2. From which country do we get Panama hats?
Woven by hand from a plant called the Toquilla, these hats have been made for centuries exclusively in Ecuador. The name Panama was used starting in the last century when the hats were worn by the workers constructing the Panama Canal as protection against the equatorial sun.
