When you enter the RTL encampment, no matter what legion you were with before, you are now part of the 17th, 18th or 19th Legions, fleeing the slaughter in the forest. Accept that you are exhausted, scared, wounded, hungry and desperate for the company of two gentle women. Rannvig and Nilda will let you rest in the shade, give you food and drink, dress your wounds and make you comfortable in every way. You are not aware that you have walked into a Cherusker "honey trap" from which there is no certain escape. When you leave you may return to your unit in your era. To us you have been poisoned like all those who came before you, and will die in about 48 hours.

The Swiss War of Independence, 14th Century

RTL recreates the Swiss party after the 1315 victory at Morgarten. On the whole the Swiss did not take prisoners, but we will allow knightly types to visit, if they accept the role of prisoners -- we will treat you like honored guests, of course. Any peasants who drop by will be treated as fellow Swiss.

The Cyprians, American Civil War

RTL plays high class hookers -- very high class. When they appear at a battle re-enactment, they are not on the prowl for customers, but most likely seeking various officers delinquent in paying their bills. We crave the indulgence of the generals, north and south, in playing along.

The CrossRoads Trading Post, 19th Century

When RTL appears at the Trading Post, the big news of the day is the loss of General Custer at the Little Big Horn. As frontier women with close ties to Crow tribe, RTL presents the story from the point of view of Custer's six Crow scouts. Any pioneers and indian fighters are invited to play along.
