Field Guide Index

To make finding information as easy as possible we have developed an index to our Field Guide series. Individual ages and acquistions are listed with direct links to the page of the specific guide in which that topic is covered. Information used in these field guides has been culled from a variety of online sources, but mostly from Myss Terrie's Bevin forum and URU Obsession forum. Both sites are highly recommended for their extensive libraries and archives.

The title link takes you to the book's cover and the introductory pages. The links below the title are to specific parts of the age. Links to spoilers will be posted in red in individual books and in this index. In most of the field guides you will be given adequate information to solve an age for yourself without resorting to spoilers, but the specifics for solving each puzzle are included and can be accessed whenever you wish. Not all books are completed, so links will be added as the books are added to La Casa's library shelf.

Exploration Basics

General information for all explorers to the D'ni world, both solo and live. Three chapters cover classes taught in the URU U bevin for new explorers. Some information in these classes overlap, but are presented here as they were taught online.

  1. Never Fell To Myst -- for those who never before entered the Myst worlds
  2. Cavern Basics Seminar Part One -- for new MOUL explorers, covering the first experiences such as creating an avatar, getting a ki and understanding its basic functions.
  3. Cavern Basics Seminar Part Two -- the second half of the above class, this session covering technical issues arising from live exploration.
  4. Exploring the Ages: Variations between Complete Chronicles / Path of the Shell and Myst Online URU Live -- a brief article covering the variations between solo and live exploration
  5. Some Basic Odds and Ends -- covering the use of the calendar dock and the relative positions of the Prime Age pillars.

D'ni Aegura

The deep city, the uru, that fills a cavern three miles below the New Mexico desert, its presence unknown to the surface dwellers. The D'ni came here from Gartenay millenia ago, only to be destroyed by factions within their own civilization. The city has been left largely untouched since the late 18th century until the late 20th century when John Loftin found his way down, later bringing in others who formed the D'ni Restoration Council (DRC).

The Cleft

The "starter age" for explorers, the area of the surface to which all explorers have been called by a voice that is no more than a whisper in their dreams. It is Yeesha who calls you, directs you, and encourages you to find a way to make the Cavern your home.

Kadish Tolesa

Kadish was the most powerful guildmaster in D'ni history, and one of the most active in the story of the D'ni fall. He was a man of tremendous wealth and vision, one who could use his resources to keep the curious away from his secrets. However, after the passage of two centuries his secrets are no longer safe -- certainly not from us. The keys to all his locks are listed below.
