Welcome to La Casa's Library
I am Ellen Wilds, one of the writers for this web-based story. Unlike an age in a game that goes through beta testing and then is released in its entirety all at once, this site is the product of a very few dedicated URU fans and is being built a little at a time. This enterprise is non-profit and in no way affiliated with Cyan, its games, worlds, books, or other creative works. This is a labor of love, as well as an outlet for our creativity. Like other MOUL explorers the creative team of Friends of the Fissure -- the creative "entity" behind this page -- were deeply disappointed when GameTap pulled the plug on URU Live. We had started the idea for this story in October 2007, but did not develop it until the last few weeks of MOUL. Now it has become our daily adventure and we hope that you enjoy your visit here. Most of my efforts have been here in the library. The books on the shelves here are available for everyone to read. |
Some books are made of a series of pages, which you can turn by using the directional device in the upper left corner. Other books are animated, the pages changing at a set pace. Most of the animated books have music in the background, which you may turn on or off using your computer's mute button. A few books are opened by clicking on the cover, which opens to the next page. This is only the case for those books that have only one or two pages. If you click on a title and there is no text that does not mean the book is locked. It simply has not yet been written. I will get to it. Or if you like, you can write a book and submit it to me at the email address below and I will read it. I can not promise that everything submitted will be published here. We have plot lines already in place that will be revealed as the story develops. In addition, there are legal considerations. Friends of the Fissure has an agreement with Cyan and will be abiding by its terms to the best of our ability and understanding. At any time that Cyan speaks we will heed their words. Labor of love, remember? Those interested in leaving comments may do so by contacting me through the email address at the bottom of each page. If you want to join Friends of the Fissure to discuss this project in depth, please register at our forum. (N.B. we are moving forum sites. The URL given here is for the new site. In time it will have all the necessary information from the old site.) The forum serves as our "backstage" area, where we can talk about where the story will go -- or might go -- as well as to test out ideas before publishing them to the webpage. Diana Cacey and I are the two writers. We check all work submitted from others as well as each other's work. Again, welcome to the library. |
