Capt. David Phelps

Capt. Phelps settled in Turkey Hills, in Simsbury, Ct. He was a soldier in the Revolutionary war. His name is found many time in manuscript volumes in the state archives. He appears in state record of "Conn. Men in the Revolution," in 1776, in Woodward's Brigade as Lieut. in 2nd Company, also as Lieut. in pay roll in Danbury Alarm, and also in the New Haven Alarm, in Capt. Noah Phelps's Co. in 1779.

The descendants of Capt. Phelps have his original appointment as Capt. in the Revolutionary army. He died 17 Apr., 1811, in his 78th year.
