Phelps-Wilds Marriage

MISS PHELPS ENGAGED

Granddaughter of Late Minister to Germany to Wed Dr. R. H. Wilds.

The engagement has been announced in Aiken, S.C., of Miss Eleanor Sheffield Phelps, a granddaughter of the late William Walter Phelps, one-time United States Minister to Germany, to Dr. Robert Harry Wilds, also of Aiken. The wedding will take place in St. Bartholomew's Church, this city, next month.

Miss Phelps, who is a daughter of Mrs. Sheffield Phelps, is identified with charitable work and public affairs around Aiken, and recently refused to become the first woman Alderman of that town, where she has a fine home called Rose Hill.

Dr. Wilds is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and of Columbia University. He was assistant house surgeon at Bellevue Hospital for two years and during the war he was in charge of a base hospital in France.

Miss Eleanor Sheffield Phelps, daughter of Mrs. Sheffield Phelps, became the bride yesterday of Dr. Robert Harry Wilds. The ceremony was performed in the chapel of St. Bartholomew's by the Rev. Arthur S. Lloyd, assisted by the Rev. H. Percy Silver. Miss Claudia Phelps, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and the bridesmaids were Miss Katharine Parsons and Miss Julia de Forest. Dr. John Freeland was best man. A reception was held at the Colony Club.

Dr. Wilds was graduated from the University of South Carolina and from Columbia University. He was an interne at Bellevue and during the war served in France. After a wedding trip Mr. and Mrs. Wilds will live at Aiken, S.C.
