Sept 9.Enlisted at Phila under 2nd Lieut Briggs.

(Sept 10: no entry)

Sept 11 Left Phila at 4:30 PM for camp Meade arrived about 8:30 raining very hard. assigned to Co D. of the 47 Reg USV

Sept 12 examined by doctor passed O.K. Nahill (?) rejected

Sept 13 Drew our first clothing, Nahill helping cook.

(October)

Oct 12 22 years of age today. A dreary birthday.

Oct 13 received first pay $11.44 took 7.20 train for home. arrived at 1.30PM

Oct 14 Visited friends all day.

Oct 15 Left Phila for Camp Meade on the 4:30 PM train rode to Harrisburg. Put under arrest in Company Str. Fined $1.50
